| its a conspiracy by the 4 stroke pussies to cover up the fact that a 19 year old banshee can still run with the best quads money can buy... prety sad actually it took about 17 years or so for them to make a quad to compete with 2 strokes |

| I think its about the money. I bet they could get away with making 2 strokes still. You got to realize that they are in it for money. Most of the quad buyers are rich kids who go and have their parents buy em brand new quads. While the smart people (us) spend half as much on a 2 stroke that ends up being faster. When I went to school everyone talked about the raptor and 450. When I mentioned i had a banshee they didnt give a shit. Its just what everyone wants, and whats selling. They make allot more off of their four strokes in sales and repairs. They can also make trikes again too. The 7ish? year agreement to stop making them expired, but who besides some fellow trike lovers on here would buy one?

| You can't drive a truck through a river because they have oil and fuel in them and they don't float. It's the hippie tree huggers that want us to throw away our 2-strokes. The only thing these useless worms see is the fact that all 2-strokes are a 100% oil loss engine regardless if it's injected or carb'd. These parasites have nothing better to do but sit in congress and whine until they get their way and are usually backed by countless other simple minded tree huggers with lots of money and nothing better to do. The biggest problem we have is the inability to group together and fight these nut jobs. On another note, Some of us dumbasses think it's cool to have the loudest pipe possible on state trails or ride on private property that we don't have permission to be on. So keep it up fuckers and soon there will be no place to ride, 2-stroke or 4-stroke. P.S. Long live the 2-stroke and fuck you hippie!! |

| Turftaimer, you are right, money is one of the most major things that is causing this "revolution" Think about it for a minute....2 strokes are very basic and easy to work on...after being around for (like the banshee and blaster) almost 20 years....yeah some people figured out that they are very, very easy to work on and rebuild (motorwise). You don't need that many special tools, and you dont have to go to school to pull a head off and take a few clips out, put a new piston in, set a gap, and tork the head back down....doesn't take a complete retard. Now, these new 4 strokes are all about money....The complex valve systems and most new ones have 4-5 valves per head....now those steel and titanium valves are close to $50 a piece last time I checked....you could rebuild my blaster, and probably a banshee....for the price that it costs to buy just the valves for a new 450..... And of course, your regular joe schmoe doesn't really know how to set the valves, or schims, he doesn't know where all the tiny parts go,....and then of course the god-forsaken timing chain and sprockets and the cam....its alot to work with....its alot of work to do....so thats why the dealerships are raking in big bucks on them....it all takes time....and time is money...everybody knows that. Your average rebuild for a 2 stroke is usually between $120-$200 depending on what all goes wrong, could be more, could be less. The cheapest 4 stroke rebuild I"ve heard of so far is $800. There's alot more parts to them so there's alot more things to go wrong....and trucks me, run a chunk of metal through one of those once.....you'll be fucking up alot of things..... Thats why they are switching over....except for ski-doo, evinrude....and a few of the big dirt bike companies. Ski-doo's GSX 600 gets 22mpg, just as much as the yamaha touring 4 stroke....and its kicking its ass in emissions...and of course its got more power. Its all about the money....somebody's trying to make the big bucks and it works.....if only I was smart enough to figure out how to make a fuel injection system for a blaster....I'de start my own revolution....and say that its the biggest thing... Hell who knows whats next....they'll keep getting bigger and "faster" and there's always gonna be your basic ported and piped banshee kicking the shit out of it....there's no way around it...and people aren't realizing it...
