Check the label on the fan and just make sure that the draw is less than 65watts. Connect it to the headlight plug without the headlight or connect it to the lights lowbeam and disconnect the lowbeam wire from the light. That way you're not using both the light and the fan at the same ime. You should have no problems.

its just like running a headlight it shouldn't hurt your stator

And if you like the results......................get a Ricky Stator 125watt replacement so you can use both light and fan anytime you want. They're like $125 on eBay.

i dont have the stock headlight on my zilla, the guys who owned it before me cut the wires to the light and lost the plug, so i baught a set of fog lights and tucked them behind the grill to keep them protected, i have them rigged up to a toggel switch, so i could have the fan on and the light's off or viseversa

You know, since I moved up here to Maine I've never had an overheating problem so have yet to need that stuff. But, I've only heard good things about it. Hadnt even thought to mention it as I've never used it.

i just run engine ice in my 87 built zilla here in ohio, i buy it from rockymountainatv

I wonder if a Z400 fan would fit? They are cheap on Ebay.
