| did it fall in when you removed it? do you grease the o ring when you install it? but sand in the intake is not good. |

| The problem is the k&n air filter...dump it and get a toomey 2-1 or a uni foam filter. Clean and oil it properly, and also put grease around the bottom where it seals to the reast of the intake....I do this every time and nothing gets past my Twin Air....

| A K&N will let a small amount by, but you shouldnt see groups of sand anywhere unless its a pooled spot of oil that could be trapping it. I run FAB 1 oil on my K&N's it really keeps the sand out compared to the regular oil. You have to change it more often but it works good. |

| It's not a huge amount, maybe a few pinches. I wasn't sure if that was normal. I reached as far as i could and wiped off what i could. I guess i'm fine? Wash & re-oil the filter. A good engine oil change and should be good right? Thanks.

| Clean it as best as possible. You do not want ANY sand getting into your engine. If the K&N is still letting the sand get in, then switch to a foam filter and oil it. And like everybody else said, put grease on the lip. Take every precaution to keep it out. Nuff said! |

| Oil Change Will Not Help You Have A Two Stroke The Trans And Crank Are Separate!!! Take The Carbs, Reeds, And Manifolds Off And Clean Them. I Run A K@n And An Outerwear And Get No Dirt! The Clamp Must Have Been Loose. Check The Sleeve On The Intake Side Of The Piston For Scratches Or Signs Of Wear And Do A Compression Test For Peace Of Mind. Dont Fuck Around Because It Will Cost You A Rebuild If You Do. If There Is To Much Sand You May Have To Split The Cases And Inspect The Bearings And Crank For Wear.. Good Luck Joe
