well , like most ppl who ride motorcycles/quads.. we all have dumb ass friends who know it all, and refuse to ask somsone for help , well anyway...... my friend decides after almost 7 YEARS, he needs a new top-end on his 1998 banshee haha, well anyway he goes to our local shop and has his cylinders bored stage 1, buys new pistons/rings and decides hes gona put them in himself, hes never done it, but refused to ask anyone at the shop for pointers or anything... so he puts his topend in... he rips his carbs apart, cleans em, so he says, (he doesnt even know what size main jets he runs in them he bought them from a kid who ran pipes/cool heads with smaller domes ect... for a spair pair of carbs, well he just put em on his stock banshee a yer ago and runs them like that.. anyway so he took the main jets out to "clean" them and i guess he didnt screw one back in tight enough, or at all, lol, so he goes to start his banshee for the first time on his new topend, ITS SHOOTING GAS OUT OF ONE OF THE PIPES my friend said who was there with him hahahahaha, and hes sittin there revvin it and revvin it tjhionkign itll go away, so anywya then he gets the jet back in, figured that out... then like 2 days later hes over there runnin it again warming it up and shuttin it off, takes it out on the road passes a cop, and TAKES OFF hahahaha , full throttle, wide oipen runnin from the cop, hitds the train tracks and is 6th gear pinned runnin. well he never said anythin after but he admited a day ago it seazed on him, he said it totally lucked up.. and shut down while goin liek 60mph,.. somehow he gets it started and moving again after, and lets it sit for leik 2 weeks, never touched it.... then he goes yesteryday to ride it and it keeps shuttin off on him on the train tracks, he said it was liek boggin out and shuttin off, then wouldnt start so i went and picked him up in the truck.... well that was the first time i ever seen/heard it since the new topend but it souns liek SHIT, the idle is wayyyyy high and it gets liek stuck idling real high then itll stop and die.. its all fucked up
anyone have any ideas?

hes to proud to ask somsone for help, so here i am askin for him so maybe i can at least lead him in the right direction

he has a real high idle? Well he prolly has an air leak, and smoked the new top end. I would pull the plugs, and the head and check the pistons. And also look to see if it has an air leak.

Yeah an air leak definatly....probably caused by A MILLION SCUFF MARKS ALL OVER THE CYLINDERS. But thats just a direction to lead him in. Tell him he's an idiot and he baked the motor. Then cock-slap him in the jaw and tell him he isn't worthy of riding a banshee

totally true about the cop he ran from.. he actually literally ran into the cop like 2 years ago up on the train tracks, t boned a cop, the top ran over the tracks right out in front of him when he was rippin. 5-6th gear,, nailed him,, same guy who pulled hi gun on me about 4 years ago when i was on my blaster, the cop pulled out his gun and stuck it in my face from about 6 feet away... we got some crazyu mother fuckers around here, u guys have no idea
