I went out to one of my riding areas yesterday, about 15 miles from where this kid was killed. I can't say whether it's a result of what happened but almost every trail in the area is now posted no ATV's. The main trail, a very boring near highway-like flat trail, was the only one available to use. Then I went to another of my favorite spots and the same thing was going on there. Like I said, I don't know if this is a result of the incident. I was sorely bummed out. There were maybe 50-75 other riders on the trail, all going almost in a straight line, up and down this big boring wide open flat trail. Every side trail was blocked off with markers and ribbons and chains. So, then I went to my old standby, and there were hunters all through the place, target shooting, getting ready for hunting season.

Sad to say, the biggest highlight of my day was stopping to watch this great big ole grandad of a turtle in a brook.

I have to disagree with this statement about licenses...It would just give the state more money by issuing them and they allready scam you enough in ORV taggs,Fuel taxes, tax when you purchase ORV's,..PLus not to mention the cost of fines allready that they can nail ya for...Then if you have a license for it they will make you carry insurence most likely and then that would be more tax money they would get ...Also they would impose it onto the Snowmobiles aswell..And we all know howmany of them ridders BAR hop threw the winter months ( NO BIG DEAL TO ME ) but still look at all the shit we can get into now let alone be certified for it it is just big ass headache for all to be licensed for something ....Take it from a CDL driver for 20yrs...BIG HEADACHES

Thats sad for the kid to get killed....but what he was doing was stupid and irresponsible....one bad apple ruins the whole batch...perfect example.
Then when your 10% time comes up you get hit with a $200.00 invite to pay another tax for your state you get that ticket you wantedLaw written for//\\for not wearing your bucket Keeep in mind the other 90% you wore the helmet and the cops don't see that..When you pay that fine...Try to remember to allway's wear the helmet is good thing but also perserve the right to choose not to when ya just want cool breeze to flow over your DOME...Laws are designed to control idiots that have no consideration for others and no common sense...In fact is that what you are saying you are and so many others of us are... In NH your Drivers license is your right to ride. If you get busted for Drunk riding you lose your license. If you get a speeding ticket it goes on your drivers license. So not a good idea to drink and ride in NH because it would suck to loss your license

On the trails where I live....helmets are required in only 2 places...The mx track and the hillclimb section. But I wear my helmet everywhere when i go there....and when I see people without them on, i stop to talk to them, and tell them they should get one..I dont understand why people don't ride with them. Hell they look cool, and its fun to brag about you7r helmet, like saying it costs $400 lol.
The 10% time I dont wear my helmet is when I'm at home, doing farm-type jobs, like running around through the fields and whatnot...or when I put it away at night.
