AMA Rule changes for Amateur class, 2 strokes back on the rise?

There are rumors on some websites about the AMA Rules changing for 2007 to a 'Fair Class' policy. Basically 125's vs 125's and 250's vs 250's. etc etc.


Anyone else hear anythnig about this.

putting 2 strokes back into the mix will definately put things into R&D for us...

that really doesn't sound fair to me, haha, a cr250 vs a crf250 is no comparison. is that what that rule is supposed to mean?

Yes it passed at 1pm today, I think its very fair, people say how much better four strokes are lets see they on the correct level.

i just emailed the ama about this.. if they get back to me they i will post the email on here but im not sure if they will or not... and this also came to mind for me.. they dont make racing 125 4strokes.. so dose this mean it will be pure 2strokes? it dosnt seem to be adding up to me.. did fine a petition tho http://www.petitiononline.com/FairRule/petition.html

Well here's to hoping thats true. 525cc Powervalved EFI 2stroke Banshee with an up to date chassis. Would put a new 525cc Ktm Powered Polaris Outlaw in it's place.

I'd just like to see some new 2 stoke atv's come out. Although bringing a banshee that isnt sold anymore and whipping on the $7000 machines must feel damn good.

haha I hope that is true I'm so sick of people talking how much these new 4bangers are so great. If they are so great they should be able to race the same cc against a 2-stroke. My one friend has a 125 and hes going to get a 4stroke 250. He thinks they are so great. I'm getting a cr250 in a few months I can't wait to shoot a roost in his face...LOL

well I dunno if anyone here has a thrill of a race, but something like a cr250 to a crf250 is no fucking thrill, any dipshit knows that its no race. i don't care if you love 4 strokes, there is no fucking race to it. I love racing and I think this is bullshit, i say keep the 250 2 strokes, with the 450 4 strokes. Sounds to me like they're just trying ot make a 2 stroke, and a 4 stroke class. fucking bullshit.

i agree with chad...altough i do think it will be funny to see a cr 250 own a crf 250...this is just a way to take two strokes out of the mix....although...now you could race a husquavarna fuel injected 2 stroke te 450 against a yfz 450
