| I don't know if this is the right place to post this, since I'm new to the forum, but here goes. For 2 stroke go kart racing, we have Motul available in our area for $27 per quart. It's a 16:1 pre-mix. The other option is Amsoil Dominator at 50:1, or Amsoil Saber, either 80:1 or 50:1, and is only $11.35 per quart. Even if you are mixing the Amsoil at 50:1, the Motul is more than SEVEN times more expensive than Amsoil if you calculate the cost per gallon for mixing!! I've heard lots of great things about Amsoil, so can somebody tell me what the basic differences are between Amsoil and Motul. Why would I pay 7 times more to use Motul? Are there any tests which prove that Motul gives better performance and less wear? Thanks |

| 16:1? for such expensive oil u think ud be able to run it 50:1 at least..? that sounds like alot of money to me, maybe a bit overkill, and i think alot of the guys here run amsoil and they know their shit.. |

| It's the Kart Racing 2- cycle from Motul. There is a kart track near me, and the track owner is a distributor for it. They have "spec races" and always name Motul as the spec oil, basically forcing racers to buy it. Motul recommends either 33:1 or 20:1, but racers have told me they run 16:1. My money is on Amsoil 100%. The reason for the post was that I thought "holy crap", unless this stuff is made of gold, why on earth would they spend that kind of money??? Even the racers buy Amsoil, when they don't have to buy the other. Thanks everybody for the input and comments. |

| I pay 6$ per quart for Motul 600, but I recently switched over to redline 2 stroke oil......motul is really really good.
