Ice Racing Tips

As the winter gets closer and the off road season comes to an end, I am getting pumped about the up coming ice racing season. I have a rear tire picked out, and studs too. I need help on front tires. What do you guys use? I need something with hard compount, small diameter, and stiff sidewalls. I've got a couple ideas, but i'm not rushing into buying them. Let me know what you run, and maybe a few tips. I will be doing road course, and some oval. I know a swaybar is needed, so don't bother telling me to get one, its on its way.

where you racing at?? i'd liek to try racing ice on one of my shees i've already got the sway bar also and i can get a set of studded tires pretty cheap....... but i'll need fronts also. oh yeah anybody got any 8" rears in banshee pattern??? 4x115

ok i'll have to check and see how far form me that is. i;d like to race ice but i'm nto sure how many places in NW indianan actually hold ice races. oh yeah do you need an AMA card??

you may or maynot need an AMA card. It is an AMA sanctioned race, but since its on a lake i don't know how they go about that. Go to www.ama-d4.com for some more details. They don't have the 2005 scedual yet, but last year the first race was like Jan 4 or 5 i think.

yeah i'll be checkign taht out for sure. gotta get a good set of fronts though

settle down i use holeshot mx 20-6-10 5 studs a lug in front wins races 4 me but more tire chocies are razer mx 20-6-10, fast tracker 21-7-10, brigestone 3rib tractor tires 19-5-10 wierd sounding but it works great but they brigestone are like $110 a piece these are all great tires

P.S this is something i know most about ice racing ive experiance under my chest protecter

so you stud the fronts too??? and you said 5 studs per lug??? that seems liek alot. do you just stud the center lugs??
