hello i recently bought a bike with the gear peg welded on does anybody know the best way to put a new gear peg on thanks andy

what do you mean by gear peg? are you talking about the shifter input shaft or the actual foot peg that you bumb up and down to change gears?

it is the footpeg that is welded to the shaft that goes through the engine thanks andy

that will probably pose a bit of an issue.... you will have to saw it off to swap the input shaft.....the input shaft has another piece welded to the other side that shifts the bike. ....you won't be able to get the input shaft out of the case with the foot peg attatched and if you cut off the peg you won't have enough shaft to work with to attatch a new foot peg. if you don't mind it being welded. then just weld a new foot peg to the shaft.....

grind the weld off and remove the shift arm...

Do it right and replace the shaft, its an easy fix.

cut the shaft psh it out the clutch side of the engine.. by another shaft and shifter thats the correct way of doing it... plus... the shaft si probably fucked thats the reason it was welded in the first place..
