Default stripped my carb drain screw.....

hey, before i went out for a ride i was on the phone not thinking and i went to bleed my carb with the drain screw on the bottom of the bowl and i turned it the wrong way and i stripped the screw........ Honda wants about $150 for the bottom bowl and screw(they only come as a set) i was wondering if i could put like J.B weld around the screw then screw it back into the bowl and let it dry like that. seeing as how its the only last 2 threads of the screw. If i do that will the J.B. Weld stick to the bowl as well? I need all the help i can get, thanks in advance.

Dan.

I'd replace the bowl altogether.......I assume it's a Keihin carb.......look on ebay for a parts carb, or even the bowl itself......could save you some dough.......

when i met my wife they had a 85 trx 125 that had water in the tank, and had set for about 8 to 10 yrs needed alot of work, now it needs plastic and brakes all aournd (anyone have plastic for them?) and the float bowl was broken where the shut off goes tryed jb did not hold up to gas so i used gas tank repair. let set for several days then drilled and taped and put a barb fitting in for the gas line, could u find a heli coil and rethread it, there not too much money, go to autoparts and you should beable to find a coil kit, comes with tap and coils, just need the right size drill bit, it says what size in kit

i dont think i need to go through that much trouble. there is only on thread that is stripped on my drain screw, all the rest are fine. What i did was i went out and picked up some spacers, drilled them out so they would fit over the drain screw the i j.b welded them to the drain screw. So tommorow ill try it with a o ring as well. hopefully that will due the trick, because beofre i just used 1 oring and nothing else and it held for quite a bit. I dont really understand what you mean by a coil kit.
