| I just ripped apart my carb and cleaned it out on my 1988 yz125. (I also rebuilt the top end of the motor but thats beside the point.) When I took it apart I accidentally left the hoses in the carb cleaner solution so they got swollen and rubbery. I replaced them with the same type of hose. Now I couldn't quite remember how the hoses went back on the carb but after looking at it, it made sense that there were 3 hoses that came off the carb so each hose must come off of one of the 3 nipples. Meaning that there are 3 breather/drain hoses. This diagram proves up my point http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...timagecarb.gif (your looking at parts 11,11,12 The problem is when I open the petcock on my gas tank, fuel comes pooring out of all of the hoses. This isnt right. I am 99% positive that I put the carb back how it was. Every part fit where I put it and I had no left over parts. Any clue what is happening and how I should go about diagnosing/fixing this problem? Last edited by schurchill39; 04-14-2007 at 11:13 PM. |

| Try tapping on the float bowl before you take anything apart.......might be hung up from being dry.......

| My guess is that installed the float wrong. Kinda sounding like you didnt hook the needle up to the float right.

| Would the fact that it's been sitting dry for over a month have any effect on it... possibly causing the needle to get stuck... or the float to get stuck down for that matter? |

| Possible. Clean it again then try again. I know i just tore apart a carb for a CB360 that looked like tar at the bottom of the bowls. The needles Pin(part number 4) was so junked up that it was actually froze up. Took me about 2 hours to clean both of them carbs. Worse part was the needle was stuck...ends up old gas turned to a red glue. After that tho they freed up nice.
