UfcFytr is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Its official, I got the 2stroke, now for your ideas

Greetings.
Ok, so I finally did it, bought the bike. Decided on an RM250, 01'. Many reasons including great deal.
I hear these bikes lose a little power up top. I dont have it yet, so I cant say for myself. At any rate, bike is stock, lightly ridden. What ideas would anyone have to increase top end power or any other easy mods to start. I want to do the mods i can do myself first. Thanks, Jim

those three things are exactly it. get a set of v force reeds and a good pipe, make sure you have a well oiled FOAM air filter if you wanna keep your motor in top shape. K&N filters let in way too much dirt for a 2 stroke if you are just the average rider. if you race and you rebuild every couple races then by all means take advantage of the extra 1/2 hp that a K&N gives ya. but if you wanna keep your top end for a couple good seasons then keep a clean, well oiled, foam air filter. On the pipe, just get a good one that you like. They all give nice power over stock...

i'm saying G3 reeds and procircuit pipe. pro circuit makes very nice pipes for bikes (but i don't like there shee pipes at all) adn a UNI filter. and on a bike taht you'll be racing you need a topend about 2 times a season. soudn liek overkill but it;s not you run the hell otuta a race bike. if your just playing around on the weekends then you can go about a top end a season. but a topend only costs about $70 and takes about 30 mins on a bike

Thats true. I still love my v force reeds. I had a set of the original v force in a tripple polaris indy ultra. then in a xc 600 then a set of v force 2 in a xc 700 and another set in another 700 and now I have v force 3 in one xc 700 and v force2 in the other xc 700 and in both my banshees I have had v force and I have them in my current banshee. I love em. they really make my 2 strokes scream...

i agree on the v forces they make a motor rev quicker and add noticble torque
ive tried all the intakes except g3s and didnt notice much seat of the pants until i tried v force and its immediatly noticeable, also id agree with 370 on pro circuit
pipes for bikes they ll wake up a motor big time i even liked my she pc pipes too but not for high revving horsepower theyre a better mx and woods pipe ,freshening up a topend on a single is cake and cheap and fast. your machine will run like new and on a four poke its a graduall lose of power over the seasons until it blows because its far to costly to freshen up 4 poke topend continually for most riders budgets .so really your a head of 4 pokes two fold:youll make twice the power with half the ccs :and itll always be running like new if you follow a topend schedule

I know this is a g3 site and some of the guys swear by em. I havnt tried them and I would love to but I wouldnt trade my v force for em. They look like a rad valve to me and I know rad valves dont perfrom as well as v force...
