| a wrist pin is not going to just go bad ,if anything it would be a unseated circlip o n the side of the piston rubbing . i doubt any of that is your problem though , where is it (sound)directly coming from ?and what is the squish clearance ?

| Are both cylinders firing? Check and make sure you have spark at both plug wires, and good plugs, exhaust from both pipes. Piston to head clearance. Is it a loud knock, or light knock? Take a screwdriver and put the flathead end on the case, and put your ear on the end of the handle (with the motor running) and see if the knocking sound is magnified like 10x in your ear, this will help you locate the area of the knocking. If its not coming from the case, just keep trying this until you locate the sound being really loud in your ear. (Dont put it on moving parts!) Good luck. More than likely it has nothing to do with the wristpin or piston slap or anything of that nature. Rod bolts are tightened to spec and Rods installed the correct direction? Piston installed in the correct direction? Bearings in the right spot with correct tolerances and clearances?

as for the ticking sound, i take it you didnt check your lower rod bearings when you had the cylinders off? you said you can hear it when you rock the flywheel, i would take the intakes back off and rock the flywheel while looking through the intake to see if theres any play in one of your rods. if everything seems to be tight i'd pull the clutch cover and look at everything realy close. i'm assuming by the 2nd cylinder you mean the right side sitting on the bike?
