YZ250 clutch slipping when cold

I have a 2001 YZ 250. When I start it cold, I can put it in first gear and it will idle, with out pulling in the clutch! Then, in less than a minute, it starts to grab, and in 10 minutes it runs fine. Here is what I've already done to troubleshoot:

1. adjusted (new) clutch cable and there is 3-4 mm of play
2. put in new clutch and springs (old ones were fine)
3. checked engine oil (fine) but put fresh oil in anyway.

sounds like a bad throw lever... that's really odd...

is the throw lever the one behind the clutch cover plate which connects to the cable? I took a look at and didn't see any obvious trouble. not sure how to trouble shoot the throw lever...

no the throw lever is in the cases...

What kind of oil are you using?

Bel Ray Gear Saver Tranny Oil SAE 80W from Yamaha dealership...

any tips on how to inspect the throw lever would be appreciated.
