it is VERY important.

what year is the bike?

you need to take the PV out and spray it down with a contact cleaner and get all the carbon off..

you can do it w/o removing the cylinder, but it's easier just to remove the engine

alright well i popped the powervalve cover on my 02 cr125 and on my friends 03 cr 125. my bike runs great and has a strong powerband but his bike sputters and has a hard time getting into the powerband. right away i saw a big difference when we pulled the covers. my bikes powervalve had oil all over and a bit of carbon build up but his bike was totally clean not a speck of oil or carbon. i could turn my valve by hand without any trouble but his was even hard to turn with vice grips. i know its bad that his is stuck but is it bad that mine was oily and had some carbon where as his was totally clean. also how could any of this be fixed ?
