I just rebuilt the top end of my 1999 Banshee. It has 0.020 over Wiseco pistons, full port job, Coolhead with 19cc domes, V force 3 reeds, PWK 35mm carbs and CPI in frame pipes. It started on the second kick and idles fine. We then did a compression test and it's reading a low 150 psi with the throttle open. Anyone have any ideas what could cause this? pistons and rings were properly clearanced. Any ideas? bad gauge?

does your gauge have a threaded end that screws into the head? unless its threaded youll never get an accurate reading.. how many times did u kick it

Yeah it's threaded in. The adapter is a lot shorter than the threads in the dome though. We kicked it until the pressure stopped going up. 10 times +

hmm. yea the compression shouldbe higher than that with 19cc domes imn pretty sure... what elevation are you at?

I'm at 400-500ft. I picked up another comp. tester and we will see if that's the issue. We had used this tester on the previous engine with 20cc domes and we got 140-145 psi - which i think is a bit low too. So maybe it's the gauge.
