CR silencer question

hey guys i got question i got a 92 CR250 and i wanted to put a shorty silencer FMF on it since it allready has a FMF full system on it, but they made them for CR's as low as 97, i looked at some drawings and i know the brackets that hold the silencer on will work, but the part between the head pipe and the main silencer it a little off, my bike needs a serious kick in the ass on bottom end since i will be racing SX and arenacross type tracks, im pretty sure i could adjust it a little with some bending....any of you guys think this is a bad idea? plz be gentle with the insults if u think it is lol.. thanks in advance
