Default Which 2 Stroke Oil?

I have a question. I have heard debated on oil for a couple weeks around here. Most of my friends use yamalube and some use valvoline and redline. what do you think?

Default good question

Well it all depends on what your running there. I take it from the name its a cr500. sweet choice in bike my man.If you decide to run yamalube low ash in that i would recommend you march to your local store and buy some vegetable oil. You will just have to rebuild just as often but it will be alot cleaner inside. As far as valvoline, maybe if your short on money its ok a time or two but not long term. redline, just a joke, dont get me wrong its great but costs to much. Keep in mind i am refering to all low ash oils only. I recommend mobil 1 2t synthetic. Insane dirt bikers monthly ran yamalube vs. mobile 1 on non cooled engines and they could run a mobil engine 4 times longer than yama engine. this was all test on bottom end. as far a topend and running ability, there is no diffrence. There is alot of other oils out there but these we talk about here are just top name brands.
Back to yamalube. Its designed for a constant rpm rang on a maringe engine. it can work in a dirt bike or atv but was NOT formulated for fluxuating rpms.ITs only problem is staying on bottom end componets. All of the recommendations here are for 2 stroke 125-500 dirt bike atv engines. if we get into boats we talk diffrent. hope my info was helpful.
be safe have fun kick butt

There are alot of different oils that work very well. I use amsoil dominator or golden spectro. Any quality synthetic made for off-road will probably work as well as the next.

im no expert in premix but here it goes ....the benol is pure castor and is great for high rpm protection for full tilt engines that burn clean fuels ,castor oil has been used for well over 40 years in the worlds fastest GP and Motard 2 strokes on the ragged edge of reliabilty and distanced endurance runs on 12,000+rpm engines where the oil is the main thing holding them together for the final laps, castor is good proven stuff ,it has a higher BTU rating than gas does so it actually burns and makes power!.but its old school has larger molecules than the hig h tech synthetic blends and generaly burns dirtier ,thats why yo u cant run it at wild ratios like 80-1 .... the supertechnaplate is 20% castor with 80% synthetic yo ucan run high ratios on it becuase the synthtic porperties are there for protection ...it burns cleaner ,doesnt load up and see gas is typcialy already a pretty dirty fuel to use ...especially shitty watery pump gas ..so it isnt ideal to run dirty burning oil with dirty burning fuel ...but now alky is very clean and dry and requires prtection as alky doesnt have the lubricating properties of gas blends ...so they warrant different oils for the application ,some guys use benol in gas motors ....some use technaplate in alky motors ,i dont see the advantage but different strokes for different folks *no pun intended ...my 2 pennies
