Yes 2008 is the last production year for conventional 2-strokes. There will be no 2009 2-Stroke models, according to the EPA.

You however will still continue to see 2-stroke sleds, probably only from Bombardier as Ski-Doo is the top sled MFG, and puts the most R&D into their engines and machines.

The guidelines technically do not ban the production of 2 strokes for 2009, but as of 12:00am Jan. 1st 2009 The new EPA law goes into affect for emissions, which covers ATVs, and mainly 2 strokes that are still lingering, they will be so difficult to meet the criteria, that almost all manufacturers will cease production of 2-strokes all together.

Actually, Husqvarna is coming out with a new two stroke chainsaw to take place of some of there four stroke saws. They say that the four stroke, with over 40 moving parts, is too heavy and too expensive to repair for theconsumer market.

4 stroke chainsaws?! really?
all we used was stihls when i used to work with a tree company.. i remember when we got a couple of the new 4 stroke power pruners with the telescoping poles when they first came out, stihl made them, they were 4 strokes but took premix, i have no clue how that works, maybe someone else could better explain it? all i know is they were 4 strokes but took premix, said it right ont he side "stihl 4-mix" they called it.. and to be honest, they sucked, they had no power and would bog out, we only used them on trees we were half ass pruning and didnt wana climb so youd sit on the ground with the pole extended and just lop off a few lower limbs, anyway they sucked balls and could barley make it through a peice of wood , but cost like $1000 per unit

Remember that this is a US thing. Nothing really stopping you from driving up to Canada, buying a Banshee and driving home.

Yea Honda came out with a crf150r this year that replaces there cr125, Kawi did the same thing they came out with a klx140 or something like that to replace the kx100. Yamaha came out with a Raptor 250 to replace the Blaster, and they stopped importing Banshee's, sucks. Some of the new 4 strokes have quite a bit of power i know that... but theres still nothing like a 2 stroke! Theres also a law in the U.S. about a 10 year run of one bike without making any changes... something along those lines, thats why they changed to a Raptor 350 which is basically a warrior, they didnt change much from the bike, the motors the same still. Now instead of a warrior 4wheeler you have a warrior cruiser, they made both bikes for a year or two. now tell me how annoying would it be if you work in a bike shop such as myself and someone comes in telling you they have a 2004 warrior they need parts for and you dont think much about it because all you think about when you hear warrior is the quad and you spend 10 minutes lookin up parts for a quad and its the cruiser? pain in the ass
