Default I have a feeling that i am recieving a lot of incorrect info

I recieved incorrect info on jetting and incorrect jets from the local moto shop and possibly the wrong trans oil. Go to this link and let me know if this is the right trans oil for my 85 250r.

The first thing you have to realize with jetting is that any recco'd setting is merely a starting point. You'll still have to fine tune from there to get it dialed in.

Bel-Ray is also a good choice to use.. For mixing oil for the gas, Maxima

Bro, save some money and buy ATF type F for the transmission. You can buy 2 maybe 3 bottles of ATF for the price of one Honda bottle. Kane is right about the jetting. Start with what the shop gave you and jet it to the plug. There is a post in here about reading spark plugs.

when i put in the suggested jets that they gave me the main was a 160 and it fouled out my plug and wouldnt run. i talked to the mechanic at the dealer and he then told me to try stock jetting and thats when the top end burnt up.

If the 160 fouled your plug then try a 155 and then a 150 and see what works the best.
