Question help with Mikuni TMS flooding on 95 406 ATK

I thought I knew this carburetor Mikuni TMS 38mm , by now , but I can't figure it out, it's like its always choked, boggy mid range, the only time it really takes off is when you cut Gas to it and bowel drains down, it runs like it was new again in till it runs dry,idle screw, air screw do nothing and choke has no effect on engine speed on or off,thats why I think it was something to do with choke or pilot circuit,or maybe float level?, I did get it to respond a bit better on take off by lowering float level.maybe I'll lower it a little more, needle jet is at top position "lean" as it can be. Anyone knowledgeable about old Mikuni TMS 38mm carburetor, Your help or ideas would be greatly appreciated in getting this Bad Bike Back running like I know it should.

float is probably not set to the right height... or the needle and seat is letting the fuel by and causing it to run rich.. use a piece of news paper to clean the needle and a qu tip to clean the seat area.. might just have to replace it..

well for starters the tms mikuni is one of the shittiest carbs ever put into production . one day it runs great the next it is falling on its ass ,but it can be half assedly tuned in atleats for that days climate lol just a suggestion but why dont yo u buy a 39pwk or 38m mairstryker Keihin and be done with the headaches

Smile I'll try more cleaning and settings before new one

I'll try lowering float level more had it set to specs as for needle its clean it raises with throttle but is rich through all range, I'll try to clean tube that needle sets in Thanks for advice , any ideas are good, get my old brain working,I'm thinking it might be leaking by choke, it's something I'm overlooking or don't have knowledge of obviously, that's why I listed what its doing and response of choking, it doesn't make any difference,you would think it would kill motor or speed it up ,I reset air screw to 1.5 turns until I get it running better unless there is a more optimum setting to start. thanks for replies guy's I haven't had mush problems with it till now as for the new carb idea just want to ride didn't want to spend 200.00$ on a new one but maybe I will if I can't figure this out soon ,been working on it a bit runs good past about 1/4 to 3/8 throttle,thinking about those other carbs thanks for all the advice guys!
