Tha'ts right. It's business is why. Honda at its roots is a 4stroke company and from I hear has been a prime leader in pushing 4strokes. The rest of the Japanese are kind of following suit. Aprillian and KTM are still developing 2strokes, but even they are keeping an eye on Honda to see how the market pans out.

If you watch the series of videos EvinRude has on their Etec motor, you can easily see that the technology to make a better motor is out there. But, the Evinrude for example doesn't need any oil changes - ever, and it doesn't need but one $600 maintenance fee as opposed to 2-3k in multiple maintenance visits for the 4strokes over a 3 year period. It's not just talk, it's here and its a reality.

A lot of ATV guys read only ATV magazines and so their/your perspective is kind of limited. A lot of these guys really think 4strokes are here for performance reasons. Honda knows that and in the market place perception is the only thing that matters. Look at hte Austrailian company Orbital too. They've got a patent on a DI technology that makes 2strokes just as fuel and emissions effecient as a 4stroke, but with all the power and cheap maintenance of a 2stroke.

Don't be sheep guys. Read.

piece of trivia:
Did you know Honda didn't make the Elsinore CR250 until they got signficantly beat by Yamaha's 2stroke 250 trying to win on their new technology 4stroke 250. They make their 2stroke I think 2 years after they publically announced they'd remain a 4stroke company.

Hahaha here we go. Ok, lets get rid of all this aggresion. Tell me, if you lifted cc restrictions example 265cc vs 450cc, how a 4 stroke is better than a 2 stroke per cc.

I dont care what you say, Im not buying it. Its all about money. Same thing with cars these days. In the 60's and early 70's, any joe shmo could work on his car. Not any more. Why, more power, bullshit. Those old time motors would put a hurtin on alot of the computerized crap of today.

yep, that is true...... quads are getting slower and slower.... there isnt a stoker out there, besides the banshee, that can give me a scare everyonce in awhile..... and i gota agree about the cars, they sure as hell dont make them like they used too!

the whole point of the efi is to mkae 2-strokes able to pass new emissions laws so they could still make them
