| What is the logic behind quads not being street legal in the U.S.? |

| I was aware of that, they have videos on you tube, but why not something like a super moto banshee or a gas gas or anything with the necessary things like a street legal dirt bike? |

| quads have a live axle which wouldnt work well turning at high speeds on pavement, you have to have a differential

| dude.... there are strret legal quads..... alba has a picture of a street legal shee on there website... and i just saw a street legal shee in florida that was posted on ebay.... it just takes the money to make it street legal.... the guy had a 2005 yamaha banshee with a trail tech speedo, lights, and turn signals, mirrors, and a liscens plate.... you have to register it as a motercycle.... but i see them everyonce in awhile online.... so to answer your question.... they do allow street legal quads! |

| varies by state some states let you some states theres no way. lawmakers are too lazy to come up with new regulations with nothing in it for them to do it. about the differential thing, if it is a safe speed to corner in a car, you can do it on a quad with a straight axle, people just go too fast and would kill themselves. if it's safe to corner at high speeds on a motorcycle that has about an inch width of rubber on the ground leaning over dragging a knee, then its safe to do on a quad with two fat tires on the back, leaning a little to keep it on 4 wheels. not any dumbass should be able to hop and be legal, it does take some skill and its not a toy. (there are plenty of quads i think are way too topheavy though. coughraptorcough ahem. those things are pieces of shit) |

| theres a few towns not too far away from me that are allowing atvs to be driven on their city streets.....they are small towns less than like 1000 ppl i believe. they can't go on major highways, but they can be crossed at a 90 degree angle. and they are just your regular joe schmoe quad....probably have to have headlights but i dunno. my buddies went there to ride allready lol....they'de just fly down the streets then sit at the gas station lol. every time i go threw one town there's soembody at the drivethrew at DQ on a quad lol.

| New Page 1 If anything has a shot at getting atv's legal for the road it's this but the price will not fetch many buyers but could open a market. Similar like models would do well on the road but if atv's were street legal you'd see people on sportmans with turn signals killed flying down an off ramp, crashing and rollovers. Also would need specifications and size limits or only select models to be street legal there would be a lot of work and time allowing atv on the road. ![]() ![]() YouTube - ATV Television Special Test - GG Quad Atv Television's test of the base model. If I recall it's about low 80 horse power. YouTube - GG quadster Footage of the 170 horse power GG quadster the high end model. Sorry for the long post.
