Anyway, that's a bad ass swingarm. The Janssen stuff looks really nice. Round housing is the way to go.

well... how much r&d do you put into a swinger.... you want a +2.. you build a arm thats 2 in longer... other than that same dimensions... and if your a professional welder fabricator like bobeaser is then thats no problem at all.... and build it with 4130 chromoly you'll have no problems......

But you have to think about the forces it will encounter and how to compensate for this when designing and building a swingarm. Sure, you can just take some high strength steel and weld up something that looks and works like a swingarm, but that doesn't mean that it's safe nor does it mean that it will withstand the abuse. How many welders and fabricators can perform stress analyses and calculate things like safety factor? There's a reason that companies who build chassis and chassis parts, for ATVs, motorcycles, cars, trucks and everything else, have engineers. In fact, two big names in the ATV business, Houser Racing and Arens Brothers, were started by engineers.

an arm built from 4130 chromoly and weleded correctly will have no problem.... if your radically changing something and your dropping your quad off a buildign then yeah you may need stress testing..... but for 90% of the riders a nice 4130 chromoly swinger will work fine..... in fact.. the +4 swinger i have on my banshee with the passion motor isn't even 4130... it's just DOM steel.... which works just fine.... any 4130 chromoly swinger will be stronger than a stocker....

And I don't either. I do welding for LOTS of machine building companies with no complaints. Lots of tooling, framework and trucks. I don't have to hope. Engineering degree is a piece of paper. Doesn't mean shit. You know how many times I have found fault in the prints I get that would be quite damaging if built? When the shit leaves engineering dept it gets revamped 80% of the time by the fabricators and machinists, everything looks good on a computer screen. I worked for a major machine building company for 7 years. The owner does not even have a high school diploma. He builds extruders cutoff machines automated welders on DRAWING BOARD. Has a 2 million dollar house and 35 employees. Because he listens to his fabricators and machinists.....engineering degree means not as much as anybody thinks. Sorry to rant and rave here but I am sick of people thinking dumb welder can't figure out shit, doesn't know what he's talking about....just a dumb welder. Here is some framework that I built that I had to fix because engineer did not notice the interference it would have to the other frame it travels into. I noticed this as I was building them. imagine what it would have cost the company to repair after it was painted, assembled and put into production? This is for a corugated 24" tile forming machine.

wait till yo usee my arm that im getting next week it was meticulously hand made out of stainless steel tubing and is tougher than a 2 dollar steak and way lighter and resistant to corrosian,it is extended and was made and designed by a tool and die maker /fabricator. if i didnt have to fix engineers (with actuial degrees) fuckups on a daily basis at work id probably give them more credit and have more faith in them ,
