Possible 250r transmission problems

My buddy was riding my R down the street doin wheelies and messin around and the chain fell off. No big deal I thought. It looked like the clip on the master link fell off. Well now, a couple of days later, I cranked it up with no chain and in neutral and the front sproket is turning. Even if I pull the clutch. What could be the problem or is it supposed to have a little pull with no resistance(chain). It is an 86 model.

I'm new here but I am pretty sure that your ok. The sprocket will spin some because even though the clutch is disengaged, it still has some friction, if you had a load (a chain) it wouldn't spin. Just my .02.

ya ur fine. your rear tires will spin as well if their off the ground and the bike is idling in gear. dont worry about it
