Question Blaster Questions

I just bought a new 2004 Blaster new in 2005 and im sorta new to 2-Strokes and the whole thing.

1. I just got new Razrs for my quad but i think that I have to take my heel guards off to make them fit and maybe even hacksaw something off, has anyone else had trouble with this?, what should i do?

2. I want to buy a new exhaust system but i can't really figure out which one... I like the Toomey, FmF, DG and Vito's but don't know which one to pick.

you shouldn't have to cut anythign to get the tires on just throw them on...there should be an inch or two gap in there....

As for exhaust, I run an FMF fatty and my buddy runs a FMF sst pipe...we both like them, and our motors are pretty modded (i've gort a ported stroker and he's got a 240 kit) but there are better pipes...I'de say best bang for hte buck is the Project blaster P&S or the CT exhaust sytsem, same things just different designs....

Depends on your goals for the quad. In general I'd stay away from DG, FMF, Alien. Not that these are bad pipes... but for the money you can do way better. Most of them fade out hard up top and don't respond well to heavily modified engines.

Toomey is a good all around pipe, Pro Circuit is also. BUT... if you want a pipe that is going to grow with your quad if you decide to build more horsepower later on down the road... all of these afore mentioned pipes are going to fall short to some degree.

The all around BEST pipes on the market for Blaster are ones like CT, LRD, Shearer, and PB Phantom. They are all in the same price range... often cheaper than the other brands like FMF. They will get you the same kind of gains as the other brands on a stock cylinder... but if you get into strokers, big bores, and port work... they come to life a whole lot better!

As for your tire problem... what size did you get? That seems CRAZY that you should have to shave parts to make them fit. I am assuming you must have gone to like a 22" or something like that. If so... TAKE THEM BACK!!! The stock blaster is so narrow and short you'll never need tires that big. The stock balloon tires are 21" and they're far too tall. Most trail riders or XC blaster racers drop down to a 20" tire... and MX guys go down to an 18" tire. You should NEVER need to hack away at your quad to make the tires fit!

The razr tire size is 20x11x8 and it looks like as soon as i try to put them on since my blaster looks like its made for round tires, it will hit the heel guards cause there like rounded for the crappy cheng shins

I've never heard of that being an issue... then again I've never kept those plastic heel guards anyway. But you're dropping an inch in diameter... you won't have any issues. If you do there's something wrong.
