best gearing for 421 cub ?

im running almost the same as you. you can ask jim i dont know what the difference between your and my motor if there is.

at 1000 ft im running 52 pilot, dek mid clip, and 150 mains. i didnt have many pilots to choose from. i would say try a 55 pilot, the 35s usually come with dgk or sometimes dek needles. i would try to get some dek from sudco if it were me.
you probably could end up with like a 155 main. depends on what pilot and needle you get.

as far as teh duneable, lol well the first go around wasnt super great, but after some adjustments, i would never have any other tranny.imo
i got mine from another place but jim has a local guy, running their setup, and he seems to be having no problems. mine is a 2-5, the other guys is a 1-5. they work pretty well.

i think i might have helped load your motor on the ups trucks, monday afternoon, i did have to scold the ups girl to take care of all the packages. you cant take someones motor say 2500$ and just throw it in a truck, but they dont care.


wes. by the way after i got mine tuned up better sweet god, traction will be your issue and keeping the front end down. boils the tires off.

I put in a 50 pilot , 152 Main and DEK clip at middle , Engine only starts if throttle is cracked open a bit and will die if you let off. Tried adjusting idle and air/fuel screw with min. effect.Which way should I go from here? Sea level

Got it running now,had to go the opposite way , put in my smallest pilot 48 and she cranked right up.Could go a little smaller maybe 45 and it would be perfect
