| i've drilled a hole in a pipe and used a dent puller to get it out. had to heat the pipe up around the dent, till it was bright red, for it to come out. the i just tiged the hole up. |

| They use a torch to heat up the dent, then the air pressure pushes it out. I was just curious of how much air to use. It seems the more air pressure that was used, the less heat that would be needed. 0-10psi isnt much of a bomb. Maybe I will just buy the kit and read the instructions... |

| you'd need more than 10 psi

| if your going to try to fix it .try the air pressure with some heat.as for the amount of pressure id try like 45 or 50 then heat it up.if that is not enough then go higher but with heat i dont see y it would not work.any way what do u have to lose a couple $ in fiting and if you dont have a touch home depot has a map gas and oxy torch for like 45 $ that will do the trick

| I have read of people filling their head pipe with water and pluging both ends and sticking it in the freezer. Ice will build up and push the dent out and it's done. you have to watch it though or the pipe will blow a seam. Just something to ponder. |

| I have not had a chance to repair mine yet, but a guy over at 3ww posted a thread about this. His repairs turned out very nice. http://3wheelerworldforums.com/showthread.php?t=62964 |

| A kid I knew back in high school split his pipe in half by using the freezer method. I dont see how you could have any control over where the pressure is applied with the freezing water. Has anyone on here had any sucess with this method? It seems to me that you would end up with a chunk of ice, shaped like a pipe with a dent in it... Last edited by cr480r; 02-11-2007 at 03:16 PM. |
