Exhaust wrap an expansion chamber??

sup, i'm new to the site.

i have a 06 banshee with t5's and i wrap them. i got tried of been burned by the pipes from waring shorts. i haven't had any problems and i ride 100 degree+. in power gaines i can't tell a differance but they sound alot more throaty less pinging sound from the chambers. i hope that might of helped you.

No need to apologize over a long first post if anything the small posts like "My bike makes a ding when i gas it halp plz" I'd rather read a long descriptive post like yours.

I'd go with a ceramic coat to the pipes I saw a 420hp sled without heat wraps on the expansion chambers maybe it causes the cylinders to over heat and fry pistons.

it changes the acoustic wave and ultimatly holds in heat ...all bad things . will yo u notice the seat of the pants in power ...probably not on a 50 horse machine but over time you may notice easier detonation ,increased expansion / wear and a fat hole in your piston crown

and all of it is true, I have had it happen to me. Bought a beater that was wrapped up.....got it home a started rebuilding the motor.

I learned how to ride with shorts on really quick after 4 burns in the same spot!
Still ride in shorts at the beach, no more burns!! Axo makes some nice long riding shorts!!!

i thought that heat wrap on the pipes helped 2 strokes have more complete combustion by heating the pipe up more and burning off the excess fuel that comes out of 2 stroke exhaust

I thought that some two stroke sleds wrapped, to stop from burning misc. things under the hood. I wouldnt think that it would be too bad but I also trust Evil...
