Because it's not good to hold the heat in or dampen the sound on a 2 stroke pipe.
No I didn't get it coated for the same reason.

exhaust wrap keeps heat in,lost heat is lost power, also helps in scaveging next charge.

i have a question what if i put some on my blaster pipe but only about half way up. i have a fmf pipe which is a left bend pipe and runs right along the side of the engine, what if i just cover that area wouldn't that help keep heat off the engine? espically since its air cooled i could a lot of help from doing that.

Guys your missing the point. All the articles and facts your bringing up are for 4 strokes! Re-read the beginning of the tread where Eviltwin posts (also owner of Flotek).
There is no performance edge from wrapping a 2 stroke pipe. In fact it hurts performance...PB

are you talking about liquid cooled or air cooled or both? on liquid cooled engines maybe, but air cooled i don't see a problem, the less heat off the exhausts means less heat on the cylinder, which would ultimatly let the piston cool better, wouldn't it? honestly im gonna do it on my blaster, i not expecting major gains but i don't see why it would hurt it.
