Is blueing normal on banshee pipes? I thought it was a sign of lean conditions???

is it true chrome, or nickel plated? chrome does that when heated, nickel won't. i think nickel plating turns like a yellowish when it gets too hot(lean)

or if its not plated at all it will definitely turn blue its normal

They are chrome. I just bought them new, I have had 3 rides on them and they are already turning colors. Lol

i would imagine they're nickel plated if you just bought them and shouldn't do that too much, maybe a little. is it permanently blue now? maybe you are a little too hot on the exhaust check your plugs and jetting. i dunno thats the extent of my knowledge, i'm out

a big chance most of your chrome pipes will blue..also...there is some kind of stuff you can put on em that stops that .

Theres a product called Blue Away I believe that works good.Do a search on here. I saw someone just did a post on the stuff recently and it looked like it worked good.But thats only to clean it.

My fmf sst's went blue on about the fifth long ride,all my chrome pipes have done that. Dont think there is anything to worry about, all you gotta worry about is smoking some 450's....hehehe

you can get stuff called blue away...its kinda like an aluminum polish, and the blue will buff right off

It's normal, just keep an eye out on the plugs.. My shee really likes the 280 jets right now.
