dragon boat races

So this weekend I was part of the dragon boat races at the World Beat Festival in Salem, OR. This is a cultural festival which represents many different traditions and cultures. It was a warm sunny day which was perfect to go play on the Willamette river. The dragonboats are long boats that seat 10-12 rows of 2 side by side paddlers. There were a total of 38 boats, we raced starting at 9 am and went through about 5 pm. Our team was the Thunderboat and was made up mostly of Chamber of Commerce members, which a few random mix ins like myself. It was such an exhausting day, but at the same time was a great experience and unbelievable workout all at the same time!

So here we are getting our timing down:

lol...ok guys seriously exhausting is an understatement. Especially for us outta shape folk who are well insulated like myself.

Climb you gotta at least continue the drum on the front end to keep the rythym if you're gonna be a lazy ass! Please and thanks. =Þ
