Unhappy cr500

hi i have a 2000 cr250 and i want to convert it to a cr500. any ideas where i can find a motor 90 or up for a decent price( with radiators pipe and wat ever you need to make it run). and i need to know all the frame mods and wat you need to mount the engine in the frame. and one more thing how much would it cost to get my roller into good shape cuz its sorta clapped out. thanks

some one on here did this mod it is a kit i though it was cheap...he said he had to weld the front motor mounts sorry cant remmember his name i will go look and i will post it

www.cr500riders.com you can browse the forums but they won't sign you up unless you own a CR500. But you can join www.bannedcr500riders.com and both web sites have all the info your seeking about the aluminum conversion and probably someone is selling a motor or whole bike. It's probably cheaper to buy a whole cr500 than just the parts you need for the conversion.

it is cheaper to just buy a whole cr500 I looked and looked and found out it was cheaper to buy the whole thing. go here http://cr500riders.com/cgi/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1197479499 should be all kinds of info.

I agree... I see Ebay engines bring over $900 all the time... While complete running bikes sell in the $900-$1400 range around here and you can hear, touch, and feel them before buying... and sell the left overs to re-coup funds

I dont know what type of riding you do but the 94 and up have a wider tansmission ratio, also on the 94 and up the cases arent painted black but that is all you preference and it could be taking off with a little bit of elbow grease.
