oh woah ui didnt notice the other posts in here lol

the 396 will hit a rev of average 7 grand, but if i really wanna push it i can hit like 7200,just a bit above 7 grand.

we dont know what it will pull in a 1/8 or 1/4 yet.soon to be.motor still needs to be installed in the truck, unfortuenately my cameras being a shit hole and keeps saying "lens 41 erroe" and wont do anything.when its fixed im gonna tape my litle homemade electric truck going and a couple more things.

i think the article i found on google saying the 65hp stock was a vintage dirtbiking magazine the cr450r was on the front cover.

i think thats where my buddy got the info too,as he was on the comuter at his dyno/building shop when he told me(i was dyno-ing the 396)

My experience with hydraulic tappets is that they tend to fall off above 6000.. and even less on big-blocks.... That combined with a 5:13 ratio is going to be far from ideal... I would try some 4:10's if you you want to run a full 1/4 mile and still see some street action... Or get a big mechanical roller cam and spin the snot out of her..

yea with the 5.13's ive figured i can only go about 40-50mph top speed, but if i wanted ot i could pitch it sideways and roast the freakin hell out of them going ito a gas station or parking lot,,or if somebody pisses me off i can throttle it and watch them bark like hell around the turn.

the 4.10's are pretty good but just not enough "umphh" to me

so far the motor runs REALLY good.

but see,ive only felt the egars in our friends 66 nova that has a 450hp 383 stroker.

i started it up in the shed today and shea ducker her head and ran out,it was shaking the wood roof off.
LMFAO

and even better with about 630hp.

i personally like the 5.13 gears.
just my opinion.

i just think the 630 ish hp 396 big block, the 5.13 gears, the b&m street and strip trany and the narrowed ford 9 inch with 33 wide mickey slicks would make a mean combo.

My previous statement was directed towards what I thought was just a greaseball 396 straight from the wreckingyard...Not all Big Blocks!!!! I have a GEN VI 454 that I plan to stroke to a 496 for my pickup...
