1981 cr450r vs. banshee 2001

i dont really care for the whole dirtbike vs wheeler thing.the other day i went ridin with my buddy,hes got a stock 400ex i got a 250r with porting lrd pipe,38mm carb
220 psi compression runnin on c-14+. i said my 250r is gonna fly by that 400 ex,it did.im sure any 250r would eat a 400ex regardless of how its running but anyway
so then he says oh my yz 250 will beat that 250r so then i says well thats why i have a cr480. i could really care a less if im faster than anybody but if i race somebody i at least keep it all in the same class of machine.its pretty funny when i got my 480 there was a sticker on the front fender that said banshee killer,my 480 has about 51 hp and waaaay less weight so i dont know what anyone is trying to prove racing against a heavy 40 hp banshee. theres no cr450 with over 60hp unless theres some serious motor work.

A cr480 made about 42 hp according to cycle magazine from 1983 or so.Having ridden one about 10yrs ago when my buddy had his,it was a torque monster and it would almost vibrate the bars right outta your hands at full throttle.It had a lot of power to be respected but it wasnt any where near 65hp.Not even with the dented up Dg pipe that was on it
