puzzled piston pic

so im working on this 250r and my buddy brings over this piston.. its for a .060 over bore which the good jug is but im looking at it and noticed the wrist pin whole seems to be closer to the top..

now sence the newer (not 86) 250r have a longer rod is this piston for the like a 87-89

let me know what ya guys think
dont go off the numbers but i know the newer one is 2mm closer to the top.

what is the difference in stroke between years? maybe one is a high compression piston. strange. where did he get the drawings?

the drawings are mine. just showing a example. i think the 87+ 250r have a +2 rod in them. thats why im thinking that piston isnt for the 86

also wondering if a 87+ crank would work in a 86 case with that piston then.

the 87 threw 89 had a longer rod by 2mm so that means the pin location sits higher so the piston wont hit the head if it sat lower that means the crown sits higher

the 85 and 86 had the shorter crank rods

and the cranks are interchangble i think

The difference is 5mm. Cranks are interchangable with matcing yr piston, or 86 piston 89 crank combo with a 4.5mm spacer

yea,its most likely a lateryear piston.
my dad was running a crank and piston out of a 1988 in his 1986 250r.
i'd find the right year for that piston(problly later eyar) and run it in your motor.
