Hello Nitrousbaby,
Would you like to part with your trx250r head stay? Price?
I do not know what I mean about the rear engine mounts...I was assuming that there was a rear bracket with two mounting positions. I am new to 250r and this frame seems to be hacked up a bit. How many mounting positions does the 250r have and could you describe them? Need a little clarification. Thanks

Do not bolt the headstay up to a big bore cylinder, I have seen cracked cylinders from this. The best thing to do is cut the mounts off the bar and bolt it in.

20 bucks for the head stay and a r has the front motor mounts the swingarm bolt also slides through the back of the motor and then there is a small bolt located under the motor ( mid engine area) like a 14 mm or something like that. I have had my head stay bolted on the whole time on my big bore and no problems but maybe five as seen something I havent. pm me if you want the head stay and I will dig it out of my extra parts bin.

What year is your frame?
'86-'87 - the swingarm bolt passes through the rear mount bracket
'88-'89 - has a rear lower mount on the frame the rear upper connects to a crossbar/

I have an 89 frame but the motor only mounts to the cross bar. There are 2 rear mount holes in the 250r cases. On this frame the motor is only mounted to the crossbar and the lower hole is empty...Am i missing LOWER rear motor mounts on my frame????
I do understand that the 86-87 frames have the rear motor mount bracket that utilizes both upper and lower rrear motor mount holes then mounts through the swing arm. Do the 88-89 frames not utilize the lower case holes for engine mounts?

Yes, the '88-'89 frames use the lower engine mount. Is your frame OEM or aftermarket? You should have three spots on the bottom rails for mounts.

Front mounts (Arens uses a different front mount than OEM)
lower center
rear lower (located on the crossbar where the pegs mount)

This is a pic of my Arens frame. Like many aftermarket frames it does not utilize the rear upper mount and the headstay is an Arens only item.

Thanks for the clarification, my frame is an 88-89 oem but I believe someone hacked the rear bottom motor mounts off and the rear top mounts utilize a crossbar...the head stay is also removed because of an aftermarket head.

Should I get more engine support?? Currently I have the front brackets, the middle bottom mounts and the upper rear mounts-----no head stay or bottom mount...
