Post Trx11

I recently aquired the ESR TRX11 pipe and silencer. Im upgrading from the FMF Fatty and PowercoreII. I have to remove the airbox and run open filter so theres more air. But my question is....How much diffirence will the pipe make my jetting before i go buy jets? i was wondering if i was gonna go 1 or 2 sizes bigger? or if i need to go way up?

Also, i was wondering how much effect that pipe will have without drag porting.....will it make a significant diffirence? Thanks.

you probably would have been better of with the ESR trx 5 pipe even if it is ported out on a 250cc engine but id imagine it will want more fuel by several sizes and your powerband will likelt be peaky like a light switch compared to an FMF exhaust powerband .your going to lose a good deal of lowend torque

But all i do is drag with it. Thats why i wanted it. I thought it may give me more power than the fmf.

The pipe is actually not all its cracked up to be, I wouldnt run one without alky ever. It may make a couple more hp than the FMF at best, it will probably feel like more but thats just cause your going to lose some at lower rpm's

well i thought everyone was all about ESR for the 250R. I just figured i wouldnt be able to go wrong with the TRX11. I was looking at FTZ, but this one was nicer. I sure hope it works. What makes it so bad? Thanks.

well, it appears im in the same situation as you. I got the trx 11 about a month or two ago and been riding with it up until now as I have switched back to my stock pipe. I had the same idea as you when I bought it, thinkin it would give alot more power and everything, but like fiveOnick said, its not really all its cracked up to be. I have a pretty much stock engine and im guessing yours must be too.

I think my jetting ended up being a 150 main (started with a 158) and a 40 pilot (with a pro design air filter and no lid) to make it have good throttle response and scream on top end. in comparison to my stock pipe, it gave alot bigger hit in mid range and really pulled alot farther on top, but it didnt even really make me go any faster wide open. you could almost say it had a banshee powerband, except no where near as powerful. I only trail ride and drag race with friends and stuff, and I didnt really notice any big lose of low end power, but I did lose some.

and I did have a little bit of trouble installing it, the mount on the pipe didnt line up where the instructions said and I had to shim my fmf sliencer to make it connect straight.

I think esr should say on their site not to buy this pipe if you have a stock engine. at first I was going to buy the trx 5, but the 11 caught my eye. And I can say now that I regret buying it, so if anyone wants a esr trx 11 pipe in almost brand new condition they can contact me. I think im going to get the trx 5, thats what everyone has been suggesting.

well wide open would be in your gearing, Im just hoping for something better than my fmf. I dont do anything on low end so i dont need any. hopefully it will do something.

And i forgot to mention. Im about 200PSI compression and running 110 octane. If that would help the pipe out, i dont know.someone said alky only. Didnt know if race gas might be an exception.

Its an ok pipe and makes good power, but I just think the usablilty of the 5 is much better. Especially when it takes a lot of porting to even make the 11 peak at more hp. The 5 actually makes more hp on most motors. Now on a alky big bore the 11 is a pretty sweet pipe. The FTZ makes a lot of hp, but it makes like the lowest torque and it reacts the same way as the 11. Nothing then all the power, may be even worse.
