New ride...

Alright so I been after this quad for a while...this guy had an 87 250R that needed some work. I finally caught him today and went to look at it. He had it priced for 1,000 bucks and it needs a radiator and new plastics, and the bearings replaced in the axle carrier. Odd thing is the jug on the side has ESR on it..and what looks to be a powervalve above the exhaust port. Oh it also needs a new pipe, the old one rusted up pretty bad and he junked it. He said the motor was fresh and had about 2 hours on it before he took it part of the way apart to fix the pipe and never did. Was this a good deal?

id say yes ,esr port ing o na powervalve cylinder is big money ,as long as frame is straigth and uncracked id say yo ugot something to work with for the money ,they are fun lil bikes to throw around

Yeah the frame is damn near perfect, could stand a good shot of powdercoat but it isn't cracked and as far as I can tell everything looks straight, no odd bends in the tubing, which I've never seen any square tubing that bends easy...I'm psyched out to have it because I've always wanted one...but it sucks cuz I sacrificed my Silver Lake trip in September with chris and those guys.
