Default transmission oil leak

my 250 has a fairly bad transmission oil leak. it leaks somewhere on the bottom of where the cases split, close to the area of the drain plug. its leaked ever since I first got it. Im pretty sure its cause of a bad spot in the gasket. but I really dont want to split the cases just to put a new gasket in to stop an oil leak. I've been checking the oil level pretty often and keepin it filled up when it gets low.

so does anyone have any ideas as to a quick easy way I could fix this? I was kinda thinking about pulling the motor out of the frame and then take some of the blue silicone gasket stuff and put a nice bead of it all under the bottom of the cases where the cases split and see if maybe it might seal it off. does that sound like it might work?

well I fixed my oil leak. I ended up pulling the motor out the frame anyway cause my frame broke down by the front sprocket where the swingarm bolt goes and I had to weld it back. and I also went ahead and striped it down completly and repainted the frame and got it cleaned up nice.

my oil leak was coming from a inch and a half long hair line crack in the case in the back of the motor between the two rear swingarm mounts. it took me awhile just to find it, had to clean all the grease and oil off the bottom of the motor and let it set for a while to spot the leak. I didnt have any jb weld so I just used some gasket silicone to cover it up with. and it worked good too, havent seen a drop of oil anywhere yet.
