clutch problems

I just bought a hinson clutch basket with barnett plates. I put everything together and there is not enough pressure on the pressure plate to make the quad move. It will move a couple feet then rev up. I looked at it and the pressure plate can wobble a little on the plates- the pushrod set-up (89) keeps it from putting pressure on all places on the plate. The rod and clutch lever appear to be in good shape. When I take out the washer so the pancake bearing is directly on the pressure plate, all edges have pressure. Is it safe to leave the washer out? Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

is it just that far out of adjustment? i dont know if that could be the problem, but it just might be.

I don't even have the clutch cable connected. The rod is pushed back as far as it can go and there is still a little bit of play in the pressure plate

well if its like that, and all the plates are there, well then i dont know.

Does anyone think I am safe to run my pancake bearing straight against my pressure plate, or will that tear it up. My problem would be solved if the pancake bearing will hold up without a washer.
