Default 250r kickback

When I try to start my 250r, it will kick back a few times, then it doesn't kick back, and it starts on the next kick. Can anyone explain why this happens?

mine does this too sometimes. does your motor have alot of compression? mine usually does it when im in a hurry or somethin and only half ass try start it with a short kick or two, and it will kick back like a stud horse. its best to give it a full hard kick and it starts every time.

its so funny when I let my friends, who ride electric start 4 strokes try to start my bike. usually every time it kicks back and busts em right in the shin

Give it a little less throttle when you kick it through.
