The final asking price is $3400. Is this a good deal or not?

I wouldnt pay more than 3 grand for it ,if yo u could knock off the extra 400$ off his price it would be a much better deal ,with people selling used 450's for nearly that I cant see how the r prices will stay high for very much longer

Yes thats a very good deal for an 89 250R, good luck finding any that are decent for less than 3 grand

Nice to see your going with the 250r and the latest year no less. I can't make a call if it's worth it without seeing it up close and going over about engine mods if any.

You can find decent 250r's from $2500 to $2800 all day long in my neck of the woods, a bit more if they're strokers or big bores......

Yeah decent 250R's that doesnt mean 88 or 89 year model 250R's which is the ones that MOST people wants. The earlier machines were great to they just arent as sought after as the 88 and 89's. Decent is a HUGE word to use in the world of atvs, some peoples definition of decent compared to others can be a major difference.

for a 250r with those mods you could get 3700 to 4400 in my neck of the woods

You can get a decent ANY YEAR 250r for that much in my area, decent in my book falls between piece-of-shit and like new, so yeah, most are DECENT
