250r mx swingarm

I recently picked up a swingarm for my 1986 TRX250R for racing mx. It is a stock swingarm that has been shortened. I was hoping it was about an inch shorter so it would be the length of a stock 1988-1989. It turns out it's about 2.5 inches shorter than my stock 1986 swingarm. Do you 250R guys think this will be too short for racing mx or am I gonna be all right? What length swingarm do you guys run on your 250R's for mx?

not being a MX guy i wouldnt know what everyone runs. I bet you will get traction like crazy with that short of swinger. You might be alright, everyone has their own perferance when it comes to length. Just give it a shot and see.

the swing arm you have is only good for tt racing not mx. it is 100% too short i don't care what these rednecks might tell you .

All right. I'm getting rid of the -2.5 and I picked up another swingarm. This one measures out to about a -1.5 compared to my stock 1986 swingarm. Still too short?

-1.5 is perfect..... that should be the same length as the 88 89 arm... good luck.
