Default intro to maintaining my (sweet!) quad

I just found this site and it's awesome. I've owned my 250R for 3 years now and have never maintained it myself. How do I change my tranny oil? what kind of oil, how much, etc. Thanks!

to change the tranny oil, just remove the drain bolt located on the very bottom of the engine. its usually a 17mm or 14mm bolt, depending on what kind of drain bolt it is (magnetic plug or standard plug) and just drain the oil in a pan or bucket. the oil capacity for a oil change is about 600ml. the type of oil is up to you, theres different brands you can use, like honda hp transmission oil, maxima mtl fluid, belray gearsaver. as long as it says its for 2 stroke gearboxes or transmissions you'll be fine.

and welcome to the site . post up some pics of your R sometime
