need t oturn up your idle screw. its a little black plastic screw that angles up and raises the slide up when you screw it in.

still the same problem, with the idle adjust turned in all the way tight...i called the place i got it and they suggested going down in pilot jets...i went from a 55 down to a 48 with the screw all the way in it would idle a little then die..the carb is clean....should i continue down-jetting the pilot? the plug looks a little oily and black...but keep in mind im not doing anything but bumping the throttle(new top end)

had the same problem with mine when I put it on, since mine idles with the choke on but not off, it seems like I'm lean or sucking air. The 55 is small for mine (CR500 motor) but it seems like it would be kinda big for a 250, what kind of bike do you have it on?

I think your going the wrong way. I have a 58 pilot in mine. the reason it wont idle then is cause its not getting enough fuel and you need to adjust the air screw aswell for the smoothest idle and throttle response.

try starting with a 60 (it will probably be rich) and see if it idles then.

if it idles with the choke on, you need more fuel

Well when i had the 55 pilot jet in it, when i first tried to start the motor with fresh plug, choke on it wouldnt even start without holding in the throttle first and once it started it wouldnt idle with the choke on...not really sure which way to go with it since im getting 2 different theory's one saying im too lean, and the place i got it saying its too rich... the plug is oily and black when i take it out but its hard to judge by that since im just nudging the throttle

any more input on this would be great, im new to 2 strokes and dont really have anyone to ask except this forum

thx Hunter

Your too rich. especially if you dont have it ported. What are your mods? I'd try a 52 or 50. You shouldnt need the idle screw turned in to run. My idle screw is turned completley out. Idles very low but doesnt stall. I run a 52 in my 39mm
