Default top end coolant leak please help

about 4 weeks ago i shatered a piston in my 250r and just got it re sleeved the sleeve job came out great and the piston fits perfectly. i went out and bought a new gasket kit and the top end went together smoothly with out any problems. into the 2nd heat cycle i noticed that a tiny bit of coolant was leaking out from the head. the thing is that its not leaking from the gasket between the cylinder and the head but from between the head and the head bolts i went ahead and took the head off again and did a flat plate test and know that my head isnt warped and i also put the gasket (Cometic) in the other way incase it was upside down. i even tourqued down the end a little tighter to around 30lbs. this is my first re build on a liquid cooled engine and i noticed that with the gasket the holes for the water jacket dosent match up pefectly some of the water ways only have a little room to flow through, is that right? i know the kit is for a 250r. anyway like i said the coolant leak isnt alot jst very little just enough to be noticed when you take a look at it any help would be apreciated.

It sounds like the gasket isn't right, the holes should be about the same size as the passages.

i fixed the problem i didnt have time to go out and get a 2nd gasket to double it up so i jst used a little bit of caefully placed gasket maker and it didnt leak again and i also compared the gasket that came out of the motor to the new cometic one i got and i noticed that the orig one that came out of the engine had an extra 2 holes for the water to flow through so i took a dremel and put another 2 holes in the cometic gasket and all is working well.

well all my water ways had holes for atleast something to flow through and to make it a bit better i compared it to the orig gasket i took out to the cometic one i bought and then very carefully i took a dremel and a small bit and added the holes that the new gasket was missing and everythign was good
