| Well if its an 86 motor and an 87 you have coming then pretty much everything will interchange except the crank. You can run whatever crank in all 85 atc250r thru the 89 trx250r BUT the deal with the crank is that you have to run whatever year crank it is with that same year piston. There are spacer plates that you can put under your cylinder that can allow you to mix and match cranks and pistons. Your quad isn't bad looking but that motor needs WORK. Check your frame for cracks. Specifically all the motor mounts(especially the bottom ones that's where my 86 frame cracked) and on both sides of the frame where the swingarm pivot bolt goes. Probably need to check all the bushings and bearings on the quad too. Better to find out any bad news now instead of finding it while out riding somewhere. Good luck with it and it will be worth it in the end |

| The motor I got comming is an '87 with spacer plate & '86 piston. It's comming off and extremely clean looking quad, and motor is very clean as well. I just hope this one will actually run. I've looked over the frame many times by now. The front motor mount on the left side of the frame was re-welded and that's it. Everything else looks good. All the bearing and bushings are good, everything is nice and tight. Seller claims to have put in a new Dual Carrier Bearing on the Swingarm, but it looks scketchy and is oozing out the seams with grease, sooooo i dunno?? I plan to do a +2 axle and maybe a +2 swingarm, so while i'm doing that, I'll replace the carrier and KNOW it's been changed.

| That coolant gunk in the water jackets kinda looks like a frog exploded in there amiright? Kidding aside though sucks to notice all those things that turned out that way but you seem to making light on the situation and it has the potential to be a way sick R. Good luck with your rebuild and remember there are people out there without atv's that would just want to have one any condition but have none. Keep it screaming *Fearnot.

| I got hosed for $2300 on it. Came with extra parts, and whatever is still useable that I'm not gonna use, I'm sellin...I see rolling chassis go for about $1500, so hopefully after selling parts, I can come close to that, and not feel TOO bad. But yea, I'm gonna do this thing up RIGHT. I got a motor on the way, and a set of BRAND NEW Cases as well. Gonna drop in the used motor, and ride it while I build my FrankenMotor . Not sure on what size I wanna take it to though. I'm kinda leaning towards an ESR 330. I just don't have the "riding room" to use a motor bigger than that. Ya know? I don't need a 70hp Motor if the fastest I can go at the most is 45mph on a short straight away.I ride with mostly 450's (honda's & yamaha's), a warrior, pretty much only 4-strokes. So I wanna build this thing to whoop those 450's. The most modded 450 has CDI/Exhaust/Intake/Jets.

| I guarantee you didnt get as hosed as when i bought my first lt250r Hopefully that motor on the way is good. I bought a complete engine for an lt250r on ebay, for the same reason, and it was totaly f^&*CKED |

| I have a feeling this motor on the way will be good. It's really clean, whole top-end looks brand new (it pretty much is, has 12hrs on it)....and it has a Case Saver on it, so I know this owner was looking out for the chain popping and killin the case.
