If you want to find out if it's stolen, call DMV with the vin #(from a blocked number) and tell them you are thinking about buying this quad without a pink. Tell them you want to know if it's stolen before you buy it. I've done this a few times and it has worked well for me.

I noticed you mentioned grease oozing from the sides of the carrier...you should check to see if it has a zerdt(spelling?) fitting on it to grease it...if so it is infact aftermarket....nothing wrong with grease back there unless she's a trailer queen.
