| Ok, so as most of you know from seeing my posts of my '86 R..I am re-doing the whole damn thing. And soon after Xmas I plan on getting the ESR Bolt On 330 Kit. So now I am looking at what my best Intake Combo would be. Keep in mind in the near future of the ESR 330 Kit. Here's what I am thinking of going with..does this sound good? What should I change about it if there is something out there better?? ESR AirBox Delete K&N Intake Setup 38mm AirStryker Carb. Rad Valve or ESR Reeds with Pro Design 38-40mm Intake Manifold I chose those 2 types of Reed Systems because when I ran the VForce3's on my Blaster, they lasted 3hrs at Paragon (when it was still open ) and left me stranded wayyyy back in the trails. They failed because they came un-clipped and the Motor injested the Reeds. So I am VERY leery about using them again on ANYTHING I own, due to the fear of that happening again.

| sounds like it will be a good set up. you do not have to buy a kit to get rid of the air box... just buy a K&N clamp on filter. unless the shock gets in the way of it like it does on the 91-92 quadracers.

| your good to go with the 38mm air stryker, I bought mine from esr, only thing I wish is that they sold it WITH the throttle cable cause the stock one wont work. they sell it seperate for like 15$. ive always heard good from the vforce 3 reeds so far, that sucks what happened though. I had vforce II's first and had a reed petal break off and sucked into the motor, then I went ahead and bought a vforce 3 system and its been good since. but i'd say the reed blocks from ESR will do just as good, but they are pretty expensive. the air box eliminator kit will work just fine and you wont have any issues with the shock rubbing the filter or anything like that. it comes with a extension tube and the k&n filter is angled also. but one important question, what kind of terrain do you ride in?? cause if you get anywhere close to any mud or water DONT get the clamp on filter setup. if you want some more good advice, contact member five0nick, he's knows his shit on the 250r's.

| Yea, I know I'll have to stay away from the water and mud with the open filter. If I know I'm gonna encounter some, I'll just take the Blaster for the day ![]() I too am gonna grab the Carb. from ESR, they have the best price I've found on them so far, and Since I'll be getting some other Motor stuff from them, and mainly the 330 Kit, maybe they can hook me up a lil bit ![]()

| Mine works perfect with the boxless intake. I run the 38mm Mikuni from ESR. |

| ESR reed cage is better for top end. Rad valve is better for low to mid but I think it still has good top end. Rad valve with a reed spacer is what I'm running and it works better than any of the other intakes I've tried(haven't tried an esr). I'm also running a 37 carb and one of those $30(I found one brand new for $4) airbox eliminator brackets off of e bay with a 85 atc K&N with outerware (it fits that bracket better{trx filter will work} and is more tucked in away from roost and mud). The mx track I ride at always has some mud to sometimes quite muddy conditions(never any standing water though). This setup has given me more low, mid and top than any other intake system I've tried. |
